Artist statement:
I made a game called American Gangster. In this game it allows you to pick between being a cop or a gangster. I made it so the user only has a path of decisions if he/she picks being a gangster(hence the name of the game). While being a gangster you are allowed to choose three paths. These paths include picking a weapon of choice between a pencil, gun, or a sword
Gun option: If you choose the gun option it automatically takes you to rob a bank. When you at the bank you're allowed to rob two different bank tellers. If you pick one, the cops will already be outside and you have the choice to fight them or stay. If choose the other, you are taken to a bank vault where you can win the game or loose
Sword Option: You are caught with a sword on the streets and a cop is trying to arrest you. You have the choice of either running or fighting the cop. If you choose to run, you get caught. If fight the cop, you end up killing him and can take his identity and win the game.
Pencil: The pencil option is an easter egg. It takes you to a screen with the Joker and is a reference to movie the dark knight which is my favorite movie of all time.
This was my favorite project throughout the semester and I felt as though I could express myself and interests through my art and the game I created.
